Background On Music (blog post #1)

What I learned:

- music is an art which is involved or contributes to every human society

- the majority of the modern music is heard in many different styles & most is contemporary

- it lends itself easily through words in a song or physical movement in a dance

- has been rewarded with reflecting and influencing human emotion

- music is also shown in radio, film, television, and musical theatre

- the various ways we use music in our society affect human behavior

- schools are now slowly learning to accept the teaching of music

- music is featured in all religions and varies, depending on their beliefs and values

Questions>
1. Why did the Greek philosopher strongly deny any fundamental need for music?
2. Which religions do not believe in music and art?
3. Why has the psychological understanding of play and other symbolic activities begun to weaken over time?
